The Rise and Fall of Glamorfell
Travel within the campaign will be done on a hex map. At first, the only portion of the map you will see is Restov. Exploration by the party will reveal further portions of the map.
TRAVELLING ACROSS A HEX
Crossing a hex will only reveal the exact route crossed, which is usually just a thin line in any direction. Each hex is 24 miles across. Travel across a hex is determined by party speed.
Overland movement for a party:
with a base move of 15 is 12 miles a day
with a base move of 20 is 16 miles a day
with a base move of 30 is 24 miles a day
with a base move of 40 is 32 miles a day
with a base move of 50 is 40 miles a day
with a base move of 60 is 48 miles a day
with a base move of 70 is 56 miles a day
with a base move of 80 is 64 miles a day
Modifiers to base move:
|Plains||x 3/4||x 1||x 1|
|Forest||x 1/2||x 1||x 1|
|Swamp||x 1/2||x 3/4||x 1|
|Hills||x 1/2||x 3/4||x 1|
|Mountains||x 1/2||x 3/4||x 3/4|
So, with a base move of 20, travelling over a hex with trackless plains will take 2 days. Travelling over a trackless forest, swamp, hills or mountains hex will take 3 days.
EXPLORING A HEX
To reveal an entire hex and not just the portion you cross, you have to explore it. Exploring a hex takes considerably more work. Once a hex is explored, its entire contents (that aren’t hidden) are revealed to the players.
