The Rise and Fall of Glamorfell
THE RANGER'S LAMENT
Sitting in the shadow of the Temple of Razmir, the Ranger’s Lament is a simple establishment. Made from solid wood timbers, the one-story building is comprised primarily of a large common room, with a bar and kitchen off to one side. Although open for business, very few people appear to be inside, despite the fact that many of the other local establishments in the area seem perpetually full.
Despite its simple appearances, it is suspected in certain circles that this location is best known as a recruitment point for the mysterious cult of Razmir. The owner, Rolen Oggersmith, seems to be tacitly complicit in their schemes, which allows him to run the business at a profit despite the abysmally low regular turnout rate. The food from the kitchen consists of simple meat and potatoes fare, and a variety of local ales can be found on tap. The usual crowd here is usually a scattered of low-class malcontents eager to strike their fortune through admission into the church, alongside the occasional nobleman who wishes to gain further fame and power from the church’s resources.
Woe be to the person who dines here regularly, however. It is rumored that Rolen regularly spices the dishes with a poison called Dragon’s Breath. Further speculation shows that this poison is only grown and cultivated in the Exalted Wood in the shadows of the Temple/Fortress known as The First Step in Razmiran, with the blessing of the Living God himself. Those rendered unconscious by this drug are rumored to be taken via some secret passage to the Temple of Razmir for indoctrination into the church.
